The sole ground attack-focused member of the Flanker family, the Su-34 was first conceived in the eighties to replace the Su-24 Fencer, with the Su-27 being chosen as a development platform. Internal political instability and the fall of the Soviet Union led to the termination of the program, a fate shared with the planned aircraft carriers of the era. Development resumed in the newly born Federation, and the jet was first publicly showcased in the 1992 MAKS Airshow.
Within its characteristic cockpit, a Fullback contains a small toilet and kitchen for its crew. Various air forces of the Strangereal world used the Su-32 Strike Flanker, based on the export model of the aircraft. The original Su-34 model was also operated by the Russian Navy, and produced by Wernher and Noah Enterprises' Advanced Automated Aviation plants in the post-Ulysses world.
